Securely Collecting Excess Foreign Currency for Charity
If you are like most international travelers, the last thing on your mind when you return from a trip abroad is the unused foreign currency in your wallet. Most travelers end up bringing back a substantial amount, and options for recovering some sort of value for leftover currency are few, as exchanging it can be overwhelming and inconvenient. More than $1 billion in foreign currency is brought back into the U.S. every year and is never exchanged or spent. International Giving, Inc. (I.G.) has pioneered a new process that will give travelers a quick and easy option for making charitable contributions with unspent foreign currency, and will open up an as-yet untapped source of funding for global and local charities.
